Visiting Elvens in the Hospital
I first met Elvens in the mid 1980s. His Mother was a friend. When he was seventeen I documented Elvens and his Carnaval troupe. We have been friends for two decades.
Last Saturday night thousands of people gathered to listen to music in the Jacmel town square. Cathy Smith and her friends, our group and Elvens celebrated Kanaval. In the early morning Elvens was in motorcycle accident.
